OUR TIME

Lead guitar is excellent
There is some really nice guitar work going on in this song, which features strong musicianship across the board. The lead guitar chops are solid and definitely the highlight of this song. I would listen to this song again to hear the lead guitar.
- bassoone from Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania on 21Dec2005

sweet guitars!
this song is pretty cool. the harmonies and the melody work great together. i absolutely love the guitars in this song. they're very solid. the hook is catchy and the production is pretty good as for who you sound like, i don't know. and that's a good thing. best of luck.
- Alzina from Chicago, Illinois on 16Dec2005

I'd put this on my i-pod
I'm pretty good at telling if I'm gonna like a song by the first 4 measures. I liked this one before the opening solo was finished. Fantasic vocals! On key, strong, and passionate. They add to the hook making it very catchy, by the second chorus you know it well enough to sing along.

- SBStrippers from Portland, Oregon on 16Dec2005

Cool
Great rock song.
Get your gig into progressive rock
See you in the charts
- MisterE from Canada, Canada on 11Dec2005

Joan Jett?
At first I was afraid this was going to come off as a band that's too much "image" and not enough music. The song started to win me over to some extent though with the clearly recorded lead guitar. The rest of the instruments and the vocals are nicely balanced as well. The recording sounds well produced and and the chorus was catchy.
- elscotto from Holiday, Florida on 11Dec2005

Go Gos meet Def Leopard
Nice hard driving arrangement. Production is top notch, good vocals, harmonies and guitar sound. Who Do We Sound Like? Well, kind of 80s pop rock, like a male version of the Go-Gos.

- Monkeyshiner from Grand Rapids, Michigan on 5Dec2005

catchy!
Nice intro!
Really like the guitars. You kind of remind me of maybe the Donnas...but male. And there's something else but I can't place it...
It's catchy, but not too poppy.
And did I mention I really like the guitars!
- sheli from Whyalla, South Australia, Australia on 4Dec2005

I hear it...
Great riff. Sounds like Neil Young. Production is nice. I've heard you before I think. Because I recognize the vocals. He sounds kinda like the Fountains of Wayne singer.
- sk8this99 from Covington, Virginia on 3Dec2005

Solid
The groove is nicely laid down, the vocalist has a nice vibrato, the production is solid without being overly done, and the harmonies are good. You do remind me of someone, but I can't place who. The playing is tight, the mix sounds great and the lyrics are easy to relate to. The electric guitar leads over the last chorus are great. It's what I'd have been singing in my head, had they not been played for me. Over all, this is a solid piece of work, that makes me want to hear your other stuff.
- jonvanoss from Holland, Michigan on 1Dec2005

nice
nice work , some cracking guitar work.
the singing is nice and clean
production is fine - its very radio friendly and none offensive.
- AXFAETX from Kirton Of Tough, Aberdeenshire, Scotland on 30Nov2005

Good
This reminds me of the early grunge bands, NO OFFENSE!!! I mean that in a good way, but it had some of the 80's sound which shows you have versatility. I like that not afraid of exposing old styles of guitar playing no matter how cheesy that era of music was. Two big thumbs up.
Play it live and give us some feedback on how the crowd responded.
- Ouklah from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania on 29Nov2005

Like the overall pulse of the song
Like the pulsing bass to begin with it gives the song instant 'drive'. Like the little guitar flick after select lines of the verse. The lyrics fit well and the chorus is cool.

The hooks are:
Bass Progression/Tempo
Chorus Vocals (backing could be louder)
The Rock n Roll Guitar Solo's
The start of the song sounds a bit like offspring (think its the chugging bass and distant vocals) although quickly shakes this tag.
- FullFrontal2ya from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom on 29Nov2005

Early 80's meet now
A number of elements in this song reminds me of a number of the early 80's song but it has a modern twist to it. I love the hook, it really defines the feel of this song. Production time is well spent and it shows.
- tcstefans from Racine, Wisconsin on 28Nov2005

Styx
The vocals vaguely remind me of Styx. So does the whole feel of the song. Good thing is it's not sitting in the 70's with Styx. It's fresh and new, and I think rock heads will like this.
The hook is catchy and well harmonized. The production is professional sounding. Guitars are nice.
- SexyCherri from Baltimore, Maryland on 28Nov2005

IN THE SPOTLIGHT OF LIFE

Insistent momentum
Classic sound and feel with an enjoyable paranoid pop subject. The performance is strong with an insistent momentum. Cool vox harmonies and overall freaky vibe. Your sound has a touch of Beach Boys and Beatles combined- Trans- Atlantic 60's.

- photonic from Auckland, New Zealand on 20Dec2005

good performance
Sounds like something right out of the seventies. Kind of reminds me of "Sweet". Cool guitars on the bridge.
- FrustratedInc from Bucyrus, Ohio on 19Dec2005

Very Cool Sound
After listening to the first 20 seconds I already got the vibe that this might be a fun song to listen to. The vocals sound tight with the music and chord changes. Nice harmonies! The choice of instruments are pleasing. Production sounds clean! I can make everything out. If I had to call your main influence I would guess frank zappa. Sounds like the players are all musically trained. Good work!
- athousandcures from Toronto, Ontario, Canada on 19Dec2005

Great hooks, mix, all around good stuff
Your band is really tight. Reminds me of Rush in a lot of its elements.

The song has great pop elements and yet is not to poppy.

The guitarist was great.

The song has a lot of great atmosphere.
Great mix too.
- jed_20_05 from New Holstein, Wisconsin on 15Dec2005

vaudville rock
Interesting piano intro, definitley original. Nice queen like backing vocals. I actually like this, its very different. Very tight band and performance. Singer is right on key and has a nice tone. Reminds me of sweet or queen. very good, one of the best I've heard yet.
- frogtown from Jamestown, New York on 11Dec2005

Wild West Rockin'
Yeah, that opening made me feel like I was in an old time saloon...then the rest of the band kicks in and I'm gettin' an Elton John meets B52s vibe. Everything sounds pretty solid performance wise and the production is tight...nice upbeat tune.
- Tarvos from Unspecified on 10Dec2005

Industrial?
Kinda Franz-ferdinandish. I like them though, The keys and voices differentiate you though. THe dual vocal thing is pretty good. Production-wise, the mix is almost exactly like Franz's self titled. I like this.
- GCDbass from Plano, Texas on 7Dec2005

Catchiness abounds...
Catchy track that moves along at a good pace and never drags at all. The chorus is most effective as well. This has a rather 70s feel to it; no doubt partly cause of the use of the word "moma". The production gives a serious retro feel. There is almost a feeling a Frank Zappa feel to this; which is not exactly something to be upset about it. Very effective chorus. A nice little track that leaves a smile on the face.
- Lagwolf from London, Greater London, United Kingdom on 7Dec2005

Broadway feel
Ok, the opening sounds like Marvin Hamlisch wrote it (that’s not a complaint). In fact the whole beginning tone of the song has a kind of Chorus Line or Fame feel, a direction you don’t see much in prog rock. The recording could stand to be a bit more produced. I think overproduced would be perfect for this, loud and out there with disaffected teens dancing in high schools in the music video. Some backing vocal harmonies wouldn't hurt either, though the lead vocals are more than capable of carrying the song. The Broadway feel couldn’t possibly hurt. Keep it up, as no one else is really doing it.
- jef_rouner from Houston, Texas on 7Dec2005

Good Stuff
I liked the overall performance. However i did feel that it has been done before. The production sounds good a touch dry but good overall. I catch a YES or Journey feel/influence from ya'll. Sounds good.
- FUSEnj from Marlton, New Jersey on 6Dec2005

Start of a good thing
the highlights of this song are that the musicianship is tight, the production is well balanced, and there is a sense that this band is in the beginning stages of forming their own sound. There are some good ideas interspersed, like adding the pizzicato strings around 3:23.
- CSquier from Buffalo, New York on 6Dec2005

Cleverly Done
I liked this right from the outset, something about the way that piano was hammering out chords over the C sharp pedal made me think this was going to be a good song.
The band picked up the chord riff and then the song went into an unusual tonic minor to major vamp just prior to the verse (very nice).
Good singer.
The chorus was very unusual in it's harmonic progression with quite a few twists and turns and the backing vocals were excellent.
An exciting pedal on B flat with changing chords lead back to the verse.
The way the song comes to an end is also very well done, with a pedal that descends a tone with every repetition of the chords. Again great vocal harmonies pointed up for effect at the end.
Very energetic performance, well balanced production, just maybe slightly too much adherence to the same verse/chorus combination (three times is a lot without much change).
You want to know who you sound like . Hard to say since you mix elements of pop with lots of other styles. You definitely have a unique sound and a lot of talent. It's nice to hear something on here that shows musicality and effort. I wish you success.
- OO@603656~PeteMcGann from West Yorkshire, United Kingdom on 6Dec2005

A bit of Sweet and Glamourpuss
This has a very Glam Pop sound to it. Sorta like something from early period Sweet or Badfinger.
It does get a bit more ambitious as the track moves on. I like the vibe and think you should embrace this almost silly quality to the music.
I don't hear enough of this sorta "Ballroom Blitz" type style these days and I think it is ripe to return.
Good ole Rock'N'Roll with some great production and a very easily digestible, but musical, journey.
- Phideaux from Los Angeles, California on 4Dec2005

"Yes"? No. "Head East"? Maybe.
All the pieces are here. Memorable riffs -- call it "almost pop". Very late 70s, early early 80s feel to this track. I'm guessing the acapella vocal harmony at the end is meant to invoke "Yes" (assuming that's why this song is tagged as "Progressive Rock" genre), but the harmonies are not that deep. I'd say this sounds more like "Head East" than "Asia" though. There are some tasty tidbits of that near the end as well. Drums are tight and overall the vocal part of the mix is clean and very understandable.
Nice track overall.
- DustyRhoads from Saint Charles, Illinois on 4Dec2005

21st Century Boy
Sounds like a combination of David Bowie and Elton John. The song had a great groove to it especially the piano intro.

- madscientists from Denton, Texas on 4Dec2005

Unique
This isn't something I'd expect to hear coming out nowadays. It's good to hear some older influenced songs. It feels like I'm hearing a hit from the 70's.
Performance - The band is obviously talented. It's cool to hear a piano and vocal driven song like this. Definitely original.
Who Do We Sound Like? - A lot of different groups. I would mix in Yes, Frank Zappa, Styx and Billy Joel.
- pillarofautumn from Southgate, Michigan on 4Dec2005

ALEXANDER

Alexander
This is a very original song, and I like it a lot. The piano intro reminded me a little of the intro to "Freedom Rider" by Traffic, just the way it starts out. It has an unusual chord structure, which makes it very interesting and fun to listen to. The piano and guitar play off each other nicely, in a light-hearted child-like (!) carefree way, but the deeper bass notes on the chorus give the tune a subtle, ominous undertone, especially the last note which is sustained. I love how the drums kick in full throttle on the chorus for added emphasis. Great ending. I think the production values are first-rate, the vocals are dead-on. I don't know who you sound like, but at times I'm reminded of The Posies, whose cd "Dear 23" is one of the most under-rated cds of all time. For another take on the loss of childhood innocence, check out their song, "Everyone Moves Away." I really enjoyed meeting "Alexander".
- olinsmith from Norman, Oklahoma on 31Dec2005

Nice Sound
The best part of the track is the overall sound. It's very polished and moves forward with a lot of confidence. Nothing sounds as though it doesn't belong together.
The singing was superb. The harmonies were strange enough to sound unique. I think thi s band has strong vocals and is capable of doing Bigger and Better songs.
The musicianship was up to the task. The chord changes were very full and had a nice tone. The rhythm section was also professional. The guitar break was a little laid back but it sounded sweet and unique ..so it fit the song.
Overall: Tight sound. Excellent vocals. Excellent arrangement. Good beginning. Good ending. Otherwise GREAT song!!!
- FredScape from Hopewell Jct., New York on 31Dec2005

This one tries to be creepy and succeeds wond..
I like the dark, ominous feel of this song combined with the childlike innocence of the melody and words, a great juxtaposition that gives the listener an uneasy feeling that "all is not right in the world." The creepiness of the storyline and the odd melodic and chord changes kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole song as I waited for Alexander to bludgeon the singer's family to death. It didn't happen, and the unexpected death of Alexander was a surprise as was the unexpected musical ending, but they both worked. The interesting and quirky arrangement works great and the chorus, which provides an initial feeling of comfort, but then takes some melodic turns that return you to that feeling that something bad is about to happen. This song is a fun ride and worth another listen. The sparse arrangement in the verses is very effective, the simplicity of both the piano and guitar provide a perfect backdrop for the singer to deliver the words. Nicely done.
- bassoone from Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania on 30Dec2005

beatle-ish
this reminds me of a beatles 70's style song along the lines of strawberry fields. Nice tight groove/beat. Very strange but intriguing performance is pretty tight, don’t hear any flaws there. Vocals might be slightly off in certain spots. gotta be a huge beatle influence here. production sounds good, good sound quality. I love the originality of this song and the ability to do something different from others. good luck
- jbodner246 from Brooklyn, New York on 29Dec2005

Cool tune
Chord progression took me by surprise, I like that. This chorus totally grows on me, again, unexpected changes. This is such a neat tune. I wasn't sure if I liked it, but the more I listen the more I get it. Very interesting lyrics. Love the harmonies. I could hear this in a movie soundtrack. I think this is a good performance and the production sounds good. I would love to know the inspiration behind this song and what it means to the songwriter.
Good work all around!
- christel from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on 28Dec2005

Unique lyrics for a rock song
The chords on the chorus are interesting, as if you were trying to make them more ominous to get away from the sort of initial Sesame Street feel to it. The production sounds good. When I first heard it, it was kind of like some of John Lennon's solo stuff, but the chorus definitely changed that. The lyrics are sort of in the style of Sid Barrett, which is kind of creepy. Overall though, it's good.
- BeatNotion from Middletown, Connecticut on 27Dec2005

Immediate interest
The down stepping chord progression in the beginning is nice. It has been done before, but perhaps that's the reason why I immediately get interested. There is a slight touch of Beatles here, but it is too original to get a "sounds like Beatles" label.
I like the way you take it easy after the choruses, it is like drawing the breath before you start a new verse. the chord progression in the chorus is unexpected, but not weird or anything. It indicates that you have talent and originality. The arrangement is untraditional (more verse/chorus, repeats than usual). That is great, and emphasizes the originality. The way you end the song too is original and exciting. Makes me want to listen to it again.
The song is so special that I want to hear it again, and perhaps the kind of song that grows every time you hear it.
The piano and electric guitar sound well together. Nice, steady drumming, and good backing vocals. I like the sound landscape. Comfortable, yet exciting. Lyrics are nice and meaningful, and have a lot more substance than many other lyrics I hear here at garageband.

Good job.
- Baunen from Oslo, Norway on 25Dec2005

I THINK I LOVE HER TOO

Genre: Pop Rock (Nickelback Love Troubled R..

A bit too poppy?
The guitar intro to this song is very catchy, and makes a great beginning. As soon as it started, I saw it had the makings of a great pop song. It has good structure and the chord sequence works in harmony with the lyrics. Performance was good though, and if this band keeps it up, they could start an 80's revival!
- jackson88 from London, United Kingdom on 26Mar2006

love rules
Really enjoy the staccato interplay between the drums and the bass guitar in the intro. The bass really carries the melody in this song. The vocalist sounds a little like Kevin Corvais from American idol. The sporadic guitar leads interspersed throughout are an effective dynamic.
- largeal69 from Unspecified on 26Mar2006

good playing
the drums and bass are awesome. Couldn't have been done better. The guitar-ing is smart too. Very tasty. The singers voice is cool though. When he belts out " scared" , and "confused" , its great. That s an important hook for sure.
- blindedguy from Canada on 26Mar2006

i like the voice
the singer's voice is the first thing that grabs me. very desperate sounding, distinguishable from most voices. That’s a definite plus. i like how you guys played on that by keeping the music simple and letting the vocals carry the song. smart songwriting. bass and guitars do their job and support the melody in this one.

- BigPete07 from Colonia, New Jersey on 23Mar2006

I WILL COME BACK TO YOU

Nice rhythm
This song has an enjoyable rhythm and a good energy right from the start.
The singer has a nice quality of voice, good timbre. I like his performance especially in the chorus. Arrangement is good, nice rhythmic section. Chorus is catchy and I think it is the best part of the song. It really grabs the listener's attention. Mix is good.
Overall nice job.
- AlexanderG from Rome, Italy on 5Dec2005

Hmmmmmmmm
I thought it was good performance. Nice song. I found the guitar work to be good and tastefully played. Nice bass work it really stood out. Solid drumming. Lead vocal was heartfelt and deliver the lyrics well.
- 2Tonez from Nyc, New York on 5Dec2005

1985 called - they want their Bon Jovi back
1985. New Jersy. Ripped shirts. Scarves. Big Hair. Spandex. This song has it all. The Richie Sambora guitar, the keys, the frog-in-your-throat vocal delivery, the bad boy minor-rock ballad lyrics, the only thing missing is Tommy and Geena.
Performance is good
- TFishFrank from Lakeway, Texas on 5Dec2005

Has an 80s feel to it
I like the track.. the production was good. Good musicianship. I think the performance is spot on. Your sound.. not sure who you sound like... but it is kinda familiar. Seems like an 80s influence though.
- dbinteract from Charlotte, North Carolina on 5Dec2005

weclome back to the 80's!:)
well its definitely 80ish. and I’m from that era so of course i like it. his voice is very good on key very nice voice.
- crystal_worrey29 from Portland, Maine on 5Dec2005

Back to the 80s
The production is pretty good here. The vocals are well recorded and fit the style of the song well. The chorus has a good progression. It's mixed pretty well. The guitar solo is nicely played and adds a lot to the song. I really like the harmonies at the end- they would be nice at the beginning too. This is a good song

- pooplikeagoose from Blue Bell, Pennsylvania on 4Dec2005

wonderfull melody at the beginning
I’ve loved the intro performed by your guitar man..
good melody and gave a lot to your song..
intro is incredible...good work really

Robert Bridges was born in 1844 and educated at Eton and Corpus Christi College, Oxford. After traveling extensively, he studied medicine in London and practiced until 1882. Most of his poems, like his occasional plays, are classical in tone as well as treatment. He was appointed poet laureate in 1913, following Alfred Austin. His command of the secrets of rhythm and a subtle versification give his lines a firm delicacy and beauty of pattern.
